How do ARCHER-FISH catch there prey

The archer-fish is also called as spinner fish is from a monotypic Toxotidae family. This fish is known for there special and unique habit of preying on land based insects or other small animals by shooting them down with water spit from there specialized designed mouths.
Archer fish is basically from brackish waters of estuaries and mangroves but they can also be found in fresh water in India, Philippines, Polynesia, Australia and Indonesia.

This fish is generally small in size like about 5 to 10 cm, So archers are popular for Aquariums, but difficult to feed because they prefer live prey.

Archer fish eyesight is so good and they are so accurate in there shooting that a adult fish almost always hit the target in first shot and bring down insects up to 3 meters above the water's surface.

Archer fish also often leap out of the water and grab an insect in there mouths if its within there reach.
